37 hours... a labor of love!

Day One... Put a Fork in Me-- I'm Done!

It was one year ago today that I began my journey of 37 hours of labor leading up to Bryce's birth. I was induced at 40 weeks + plus one day because there was concern that Bryce might be a big baby-- perhaps too big for me to deliever. I was 9lbs 6 oz when I was born and my husband is 6'5", so the potential was definitely there! I won't bore you with the details of the induction and labor, but basically the induction didn't exactly "work" on the first day. So on day two (his birth day) we increased the pitocin and broke my water. Yikes! It was a roller coaster from that point on.

I just wanted to take a quick moment (before work) to reflect on today, because the first day of labor was a wonderful and empowering day for me, only to be topped by day two! :)

By the way, if I had to do all over again I would avoid induction at all cost. It gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "fast and furious!"

wow - you look so cute in that picture! Most people don't realize how inductions can spin out of control... it's seen almost as "normal" these days.... So how much did he end up weighing? How about a baby picture? :)
